Beautiful Graffiti

One day on our last trip while we were sightseeing around the north shore of Maui, we stopped to climb up on a cliff.  What had attracted us was the graffiti on a big boulder next to the path.  This is still one of my favorite pictures from that trip.

The road we were traveling was very narrow and seemed to have been cut through a cliff.

A little higher up, I got a better view of the inlet below.

Not sure what this was originally but it looked pretty in the field across the way.

And at the top of the path we were climbing, we encountered this breath taking view of the Pacific.  That is Molokai in the distance.  Next time we go, we will spend some time there.  I read the novel, "Molokai," by Alan Brennert in January and thoroughly enjoyed it.  There are several places  mentioned in the book that I would like to visit.  There is so much history in the Hawaiian Islands that I have yet to learn.

My favorite Palm tree view from Howard Park beach.

My favorite little fur buddy.

View from the beaches along Anclote Key.  Such beautiful Gulf beaches.

Road to Hana

I was amazed by this photo that was posted on one of the Hawaii FB pages that I follow.
Aerial View of Road to Hana
I had never seen this perspective of the road to Hana before.  And it explains why my heart has been in my throat the five times my husband and I have enjoyed that day long drive on Maui.

So I found some shots taken from along that road to post.  They explain why so many people brave that drive every time they come to Maui.

Simply breath taking.

I already had Maui on my mind this week.

It's never left my heart.

One of My Favorite Spots on Maui

We stopped at a small beach park on the way from Lahaina to the condo we were staying in.  I couldn't resist trying to capture this view and was amazed at how beautifully it turned out when I uploaded it to my laptop.

It epitomizes the Maul feeling for me.  I want to go back.  Maybe for our 40th anniversary?  We'll see.  #39 coming up this year in August.

Definitely Springtime Here

Azaleas and Bougainvillea

Love them both.

But the first "Mr. Lincoln" of the year is always spectacular.

Let's Stop Fooling Around

It's time for Florida to pass a bill that says we'll be on DST all the time or not at all.  Makes no sense to mess with people's body rhythms the way we have done for 50 years now.

I need to go refill my coffee cup.

Beau agrees with me, but he's not allowed to have coffee....

Quiet Moments

Cobblestone Afghan in Cotton Yarn by Sugar n' Cream, Country Stripes

Started a new afghan a few weeks ago.  There is little I find more relaxing than crocheting and listening to a good narrator read a favorite author's new book to me, UNLESS....my husband has put the TV on Music Choice "Easy Listening" channel, turned on the surround sound and I can crochet, hum along with favorite selections, and chat quietly every once in awhile when he looks up from his book.
